
If you like crime with an edge, (crime with violence, certainly), but without unnecessary sadism, this is for you. No one was perfect there were a lot of imperfect people trying to do their best. His characters are all entirely believable. He can also climb inside the mind of a crooked Northern Irish politician, the mind of a massively damaged police officer who is suffering from post-traumatic stress, and a pimp! He has an uncanny ability to get inside the heads of women as well as his men. The author is inventive, imaginative and portrays his characters particularly well. Could this be his chance to regain his reputation without disrupting the lives of the Carlisles. Rea’s father is a powerful Northern Irish politician, and a family scandal like this could destroy his career, but Jack has been suspended after corruption charges. She turns to disgraced Police Inspector Jack Lennon and his new supervisor Serena Flanagan. She has inherited the house from an uncle that she never knew. She puts the book down and runs to wash her hands, washing away the fear and disgust.
